Trashiyangtse is the newest district in Bhutan. It was created in 1992 by splitting it from Trashigang. It's the easternmost district that shares border with Arunachal Pradesh in India. It's about 3 hours drive.
Trashiyangtse was named by Terton Pema Lingpa during his visit in 15th-century meaning; (the fortress of the auspicious fortune).
