Lungchutse Monastery is perched on a mountain top above Dohula pass at an elevation 3,566 m. It was founded in the 18th century by Terton(Treasure Revealer) Drukda Dorji.

Distance: Roughly 7 km
Time Taken: 3-4 hrs
The hike starts from Dochula pass and its one of the beautiful hike. The trail will take you through the thick forest of Hemlock, Fir, Rhododendrons, and junipers when you reach close to the monastery. It is all uphill hike and in summer becomes muddy so it is not advisable to hike with small kids in summer. The whole hike is through the forest and it's really good for the nature lovers. You will be able to spot some birds and animals. And also you may come across yaks.
Once you reach there you will have an awesome view. if the weather is clear you will have a 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayas and nearby valleys. Some of the notable mountains that you can see include jumolhari (7314 m), Masang Gang (7158), table mountain (7060 m) and Gangkhar Puensum (7520 m), the highest peak in Bhutan. And also part of valleys from Thimphu, Punakha and Gasa districts including Gasa Dzong.
