Lhakhang Nagpo
Brief Background

It's about a 10 to 15 minutes walk from Lhakhang Karpo and was constructed at the same time as Lhakhang Karpo. It dates back to the 7th century and it was built by Tibetan king Sangtsen Gampo. According to legend, it's said the king has released 2 pigeons white and black to choose the sight. Lhakhang Nagpo is constructed on the site perched by the Black region. That's how the name is also derived Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple)

Its located at the foothills of the three magnificent mountains to the south of the Haa Dzong, commonly known as RigsumGonpo.

Inside Lhakhang Nagpo

Inside there are beautiful paintings like any other temple. But the interesting thing about this temple is, it is believed to be constructed on top of a lake. So inside temple, there is a opening to the lake.
