Gomphu Kora is one of the popular places in eastern Bhutan which is blessed by Guru Rinpoche where he mediated under the rock in order to subdue the demon by converting himself into Garuda.
The small Gomphu Kora Temple beside this rock was established in the second half of the 17th century by Minjur Tenpa. The Gom Kora Tshechu is held from the 8-11th of the 2nd Bhutanese month and is visited by locals and tribal people from Merak-Sakten and Arunachal Pradesh, who circumambulate the gonpa throughout the night.
Open: Every day from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs .
Lunch Break: 13-14 hrs
Dress Code: Formal dress is required
Entry Fee: No Fees
Photography: Photography is allowed until courtyard.
