Perfect Companion!

There cant be better companion to earth than moon so is Thinley Dorji for trip to bhutan. A late review but i have been short of words of the experiences we had during Bhutan Trip last year in September. Rating is not for those who seeks self actualization.

Thinley simply the finest travel guide I ever had all over the world. A computer science engineer who is building algorithms of human endeavor in the field of tourism and hospitality. He is passionate about his profession and extraordinarily informed about Bhutanese culture, history and Buddhism. I had numerous debates and discussions in our 9 days of journey from phuentsholing to thimphu to Punakha valley to Gangtey valley to Paro and he never tires of sharing his understanding of the Bhutanese people and their culture, Buddhist religion, demography, geography, Royal family, constitutional rights, democratic processes and political inclination. His understanding about world politics and foreign relations between countries is beyond imagination. He just made our journey complete by reading out history book of bhutan in those 9 days.

It was a great privilege to experience Bhutan with Thinley. Always smiling, patient, gentle and thoughtful. He drivers slowly and carefully and gives you all the opportunity to explore bhutan as you wish to.We were grateful for his driving skills particularly along narrow mountain roads (which is all around the country). We always felt safe. Every request was was always met with kindness and graciousness when it is a better idea to adjust the itinerary, When he is silent, he is actually thinking and writing programme in his mind to make the best use of time. One such example is of moving to gangtey valley, do a track on marshy land, visit to farmhouse to enjoy local hospitality & tasty food and then returning back to punakha late in the evening. Driving in the mountains in the evening is not advisable but we gained enough confidence on his driving skills. It was a serene and relaxing trip because of his efforts. He is one man army and team of his own and ultimate ambassadors to Bhutan.

He was so much fun to be with and become a friend of life time. We returned with the promise to seek his guidance again to travel along eastern Bhutan. Thanks you very much for making a perfect journey.
